May be the Media Giant VIACOM (TV 18 NETWORKS ) purchased 50% share in ETV KANNADA and the most famous programmes aired in their networks like BIG BOSS, KHATRON KE KILDAI, and MTV ROADIES are going to broadcast in ETV KANNADA and he can show his best in this channel again as he did in Suvarna Channel.

After that he started another reality show in MANE MUNDHE MAHALAXMI which hosted by famous reality show anchor AKUL BALAJI.

When KANNADA KOTYADHIPATHI Season 1 about to start to give competition ETV Kannada has started BIG BOSS. Which hosted by Mr.SUDEEP and gave competition and controversies also.

How ETV Kannada becoming popular in GEC( General Entertainment Channel) category channels.

When SUN NETWORK ruling the south based TV channel industry,

Mr.Ramoji Rao launched his own ETV NETWORK group. Initially ETV started Telugu channel, later it established Bengali, Urdu, Kannada, Gujarati, Oriya and Marathi respectively.

After the UDAYA TV (Owned by SUN NETWORKS) ETV Kannada became Karnataka's 2nd channel under GEC ( General Entertainment Channel).

When T.N.Seetharao started his televison serials Manvantara, Mukta in association with ETV Kannada started to get more number of viewers day by day.

Annadaatha is a Agricultural programme( 6.00 am to 06:30 am) airing since ETV Kannada established. ETV Kannada still dedicated to Agriculture programmes to give knowledge and support farmers.

Later on Reliance group( Mukesh Ambani holdings) got stake holdings in ETV Groups.

As of now TV 18 networks have 50 % stakes in ETV Kannada. The founder-promoter of TV 18 networks Raghav Bahl wants his media empire to reach all the languages.

After watching Bigg Boss Kannada for a few months, audience were left with no suitable program to watch in the time slot between 8-9 pm. Understanding the pulse of the audience, ETV is now coming up with yet another reality show. This time, the show will be adventurous and entirely different from the Kiccha Sudeep hosted show. The show titled, Indian, will be replacing Bigg Boss. According to reports, it is the Kannada version of popular Hindi show MTV Roadies. Akul Balaji, who had earlier hosted a few shows like Halli Haida Pyatege Bandha, will be the anchor of Indian, which will reportedly unveil the various colours of different regions in India.


Indian will have 12 contestants where they will travel seven states in India. Six men and women will be the participants in the show. Like Roadies, they will be given different kind of tasks and every week there will be an elimination. The worst among the lot will be shown the doors. It will begin in Laddakh and end in Kanyakumari. The participants will be living in each state for two weeks. They will be travelling by bus. However, the names of the participants are yet to be revealed.

A trip across the country

Soumya Mandakki, a part-time model, who has been chosen to be part of the reality show, says that she is excited and confident. “It’s the first time that I am taking part in a reality show. I am bracing myself for it both physically and mentally. I am also exercising to improve my strength,” she explains. “This means that I will have to stay away from my parents,” she adds.

Talking about the auditions, she adds that she was a bit nervous. “It’s a great opportunity and platform. I want people in the State to know me and this is a good way to ensure that. Everyone doesn’t get such an opportunity,” she says.

For Pradip GK, another contestant, being selected came as a surprise. “I just went for the auditions and was quite surprised to have been chosen. I really didn’t think I would be. I’m packing my bags and getting ready to leave,” says the vegetable vendor from HD Kote.

The participants are from various regions of Karnataka. The team will travel to a new state every alternate Monday and will explore the region through various native activities that will reflect the cultural diversity of the state. The participants also have to perform tasks, which have been tailor-made to suit a particular city. The show will begin in Ladakh and end in Kanyakumari over a period of 14 weeks and 98 episodes. The contestants will be made to stay for 10 days in each state, where they will have to adapt to its culture.

The best performer will win immunity, which will ensure that the participant is given an advantage on the elimination day, while the weak performers for each task are voted out. Ravish Kumar, executive vice-president, Viacom 18 and business head-regional channels ETV Kannada, says, “After Bigg Boss took Karnataka by storm, we needed another format that would keep viewers hooked. Fourteen people camping in one Bigg Boss house generated so much valuable content — so, when 14 contestants camp for 14 weeks across India, we hope that it will be just as compelling and intriguing.”

Parameshwar Gundhkal, programming head ETV, adds, “‘Indian’ is a show that is an exhilarating combination of travel and adventure that would appeal to all age groups. The show will be shot across the length and breadth of India, touching seven states that include Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.”

Akul Balaji set to host new reality show. Akul Balaji, who shot to fame with several reality shows, is all set to host another new show, Indian, that will aired on ETV. The new show is likely to replace Bigg Boss, which was recently concluded. The new show, Indian, is an adventure-reality show that discovers the true colours of different parts of India. Sources inform that it will be a Kannada version of MTV's Roadies. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/photo/21244153.cms The travel show will explore seven states in India through the eyes of 14 contestants. Seven boys and seven girls will take part in the show. Similar to Roadies, the contestants will be put in various tasks and will be eliminated every week based on their performances. Tasks such as preparing a delicious special meal famous in Karnataka or draping the traditional turban of Rajasthan, among others, will be given. The show will start in Laddakh and end in Kanyakumari. Contestants will stay in each state for ten days. As against Roadies where they tour on bikes, here they will travel by bus. The names of the contestants will be announced soon. Meanwhile, Akul has Loosugalu up for release. The film is said to be a romantic comedy which has Akul, Srimurali, Srikanth and Aishwarya Nag, among others in lead roles. Akul will commence shooting for Shubhavivaha from the first week of August.

Mahesh. The Hunk. Guy seems muscular. After watching video you people may be wondering how can he jump like that and what kind of gymnastic trick he learnt. Its called PARKOUR or FREERUN or some people call it as 3RUN. Well parkour is essentially to go from one place to another in the quickest and most efficient way possible overcoming any obstacle you encounter through the use of your own body. Parkour is looked at as a discipline and even a lifestyle much like martial arts. Where as martial arts is the art of Fight, parkour is the art of flight. According my knowledge Our Sandalwood Powerstar is the only person in indutry who learnt Parkour upto some level. You can see his parkour style in a song "Kaanadante maayavadanu" from "ANNA BOND" movie. Where he walks on wall.
